FAQs

  • If you are interested in initiating therapy, I’m so glad you’re here. Please contact me to schedule a free 30-minute virtual consultation. During the consultation appointment, we will get to know each other to determine whether we are the right fit. I will listen to the reasons for which you are seeking therapy, provide you with information about me and my approach, and answer any questions that you have.

  • Align Therapy is an out-of-network provider; all services are self-pay. For clients whose health insurance carriers provide out-of-network coverage, I provide invoices called Superbills to submit for reimbursement for a percentage of the cost of your sessions. Typically, insurance plans that provide out-of-network coverage reimburse 50-80% of the fee.

If you would like to use out-of-network insurance benefits, please contact your health insurance provider and inquire about reimbursement rates for virtual therapy services. Important questions to ask include how much will be covered, whether teletherapy is covered, and whether there is a deductible or coinsurance.

  • The initial 30-minute consultation is free of charge. If we begin working together, fees depend upon the nature of the service you are requesting. Please contact me to inquire about rates. Align Therapy does not provide a sliding scale at this time.

  • I currently provide virtual therapy sessions to residents of New York State, Connecticut, and Washington D.C. using HIPAA-compliant software to protect clients’ privacy. Limited in-office sessions in Manhattan, NY may resume in the future. Please do not hesitate to inform me if you have a preference for in-office therapy sessions.

  • At the onset of therapy, meeting once weekly is typically recommended to develop a therapeutic relationship and begin working toward your goals. Most often, we meet for 50-minute sessions, and whenever possible, we will have a standing weekly appointment time. I do my best to approach clients’ varying scheduling needs with as much flexibility as possible.

  • I do not prescribe medication. I work closely with several trusted psychiatry providers to whom I refer my clients to coordinate and optimize their care. If you have an established psychiatry provider, I am happy to consult and coordinate as needed.

If you have a question that I have not answered above, please don't hesitate to contact me.
